Beyond the Veil

This was my second year of my FDA photography course final major project where I looked to find insight into the vilified practice of Deer Hunting. Hunting is often demonised for many people but may be misconstrued for other forms of hunting i.e. Fox Hunting, which is a form of leisure for the affluent. I feel it is much easier to hate this form of hunting than hunting which is used to keep the ecosystem in a healthy 'Carrying Capacity'. I want to show that hunting for some people is not a sport or leisure activity but a traditional form of providing food as payment whenever a deer is killed and showing that all of the meat is used and not wasted. Thus project was a follow on form my previous rural documentary work 'Come Boss' which inspired me to take a documentary approach.
